Specific Positive Reinforcement
☕️The importance of SPECIFIC positive reinforcement:
☕️When praising and complimenting our clients/children for their positive actions, be as specific as possible. We can get into the habit of saying “good job, good job, good job” for everything, but that will eventually lose its meaning.
☕️The more specific we are, the more our children will know what we expect from them. Some examples of specific positive reinforcement include: “I like how you used your words”, “good trying”, “thank you for cleaning up”, “good job looking at me”.
