Balanced Lifestyle
“It’s all about finding balance”. -said everyone ever.
But is it really possible to find balance?
In today’s world, we are all constantly juggling a million things at once: work, relationships, kids, health, social life, etc. For me personally, I am currently trying to balance my career, building this brand, life at home with family, planning our wedding, keeping in touch with friends, and staying healthy/active day to day. I am super grateful that these are the things I get to enjoy every day, but I do not think that it’s possible to be balanced 100% of the time and that’s okay!
Tim Grover said “You don’t find balance, you create it”. This quote got me thinking. We don’t just FIND balance and have a perfectly balanced life at all times. I think if we are constantly trying to give equal time to every part of our life all the time, we will lose focus and energy. Instead, I now try to have very dedicated focus on one thing at a time. If I am in the middle of providing a speech therapy session, I’m in the moment and dedicating all of my energy there. If I am relaxing and spending time with my fiancé Joe & our pup Josh, I’m in the moment there. This gives me the energy to be able to do the other tasks throughout my day.
I used to be in the middle of relaxing and then jump up to respond to an email and then get caught up with checking social media and then remember something else I need to get done! I’m definitely not completely free of doing that just yet, but at least with this awareness, I can actively work on it every day. There will be some days where your work gets more of your focus and other days where family or friends will get more. That’s life. With dedicated and intentional focus, there is more life to enjoy 🙂 . Stay in the moment!
